Fear takes us down an unexpected road in EOS, a revolutionary Solarpunk story from author Samantha Redstreake Geary, in collaboration with artist Jenny Vyas, featuring music by Really Slow Motion, and groundbreaking graphics via designer Koke Núñez Gómez

A new dawn is on the horizon, where boundaries are broken, diversity is embraced, and an optimistic, creative vision of our future on Earth takes center stage.

EOS is a powerful solarpunk story narrated by FEAR, who tackles real-world issues concerning terrorism, prejudice, and diversity, to near-future technology surrounding sustainable energy that restores the balance between humanity and nature. This isn’t a defeatist tale. It is a look through the lens of positive futurism that showcases the courage, compassion and capabilities of humanity as equal partners in building a bridge to a better tomorrow.

Uniting the Internet’s Horrors: The Horror Blogger Alliance

Hey, this is about the HBA and me… please read… like and share!!

horroraddicts.net

Tonight Kbatz is chatting with Jeremy, Curator for the Horror Blogger Alliance!

When and how did the Horror Blogger Alliance come about? Why start a blog uniting fellow horror enthusiasts?

So many of us in the beginning of our blogging sites based on horror had no direction, hoping that someone would just find us hidden amongst 1000’s of blogs. Originally a brain child of Carl Manes [http://www.ilikehorrormovies.com/] and few other savvy horror site owners came up with this idea to bring us to a home. I was fortunate to have sort of taken over as the founders have moved on with other projects, stopped blogging or had just too much on their plates.

We have recently began adding members back to the command chair as it’s becoming difficult for me to maintain the HBA as I once did. So now new contributors and friends are leading the way into assuring…

The Boom Boom Girls of Wrestling

Just when you ask yourself “why did the chicken cross the road”… the answer is the BOOM BOOM GIRLS!

The Fluff Is Raging

I am not a huge fan of slasher films, but when they are done well, they can be a gleefully guilty pleasure.

PROWLER

As much fun as they are, though, too often they fall into a predictable pattern.

Chimeres-bloody-woman-in-shower

I just heard about a new movie, The Boom Boom Girls of Wrestling, which might just offer an interesting take on the genre.

WREST7

Written and directed by Carolin Von Petzholdt (Testing Life), the story is about a group of female pro-wrestlers who wind up stuck in a ghost town in the middle of the desert, and one by one get stalked by a knife-wielding psychopath dressed like a chicken.

CHICJ

Yes, a chicken.

Okay, yes, it sounds like the usual, but very few movies in the slasher genre are directed by women (and 75% of the film’s crew are female), so I’m hopeful this might offer something fresh.

Z (#atozchallenge)

The Sound of One Hand Typing

So, here we are at the end of the A to Z Challenge for 2015, and at the end of the alphabet with the letter Z, known as “zed” in much of the rest of world.

Z is the name of a 1969 French Algerian movie starring Yves Montand and Irene Papas, directed by the Greek director Costa-Gavras, music by Mikis Theodorakis, adapted from the novel of the same name by Vasilis Vasilikos. IMDb’s logline says “Following the murder of a prominent leftist, an investigator tries to uncover the truth while government officials attempt to cover up their roles.” The whole movie is available on YouTube with English subtitles, broken into 13 pieces. I had a hard time following it, even with the subtitles; maybe you’ll have better luck. Roger Ebert, who had started at the Chicago Sun-Times not long before, proclaimed it the best movie of 1969.

Teggie

Pull Up A Toadstool

Most of us have heard of Nessie, which is the ever elusive, possibly mythological creature which inhabits Loch Ness in Scotland. How many of you have heard of Teggie, which is a creature of a similar nature which inhabits Bala lake in Wales? I had never heard of Teggie myself until starting to research topics for this year’s A to Z challenge.

Bala is a small village at the eastern edge of Snowdonia National Park, and is a quiet little hamlet with possibly as many sheep as there are people. Don’t let the sleepy nature of this place fool you though. Teggie was given her name in a similar way to Nessie, which is after the body of water inhabited. The Welsh name for Bala lake is Llyn Tegid.

Teggie is said to be a large crocodile like creature and has been reported to have lifted wind surfers out of…
